News broke earlier this week that surfing legend Kelly Slater had purchased a beachfront North Shore home for $7.8 million. First thought: Slater didn’t already own a beachfront North Shore home? Second thought: Wow. Surfing sure does pay, if you’re the 11-time world champ.
Wow is what you’ll feel when you see the photos. Who better to take full advantage of an estate perched perfectly on the coastline along Papailoa Street than Slater? He’s often been spotted chatting happily with adoring groms at the occasional food truck or near the public beach access on the quiet street during the winter.
The property, originally listed for $9,975,000 by Anne Hogan Perry of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, had dropped in price significantly to $5,950,000 just prior to Slater’s purchase. The home is more than 7,600 square feet in size and situated on half an acre with 101 feet of ocean frontage. And, with seven bedrooms and seven and a half baths, it’s bound to be buzzing with surfers every winter.
