PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Blue Soup UP Vest is currently available in two designs, the trademark black with a cyan blue collar and sleeve detail and also a reverse color scheme that will enable you to stand out on the water, a cyan blue body with black collar detail.

The outer vest is manufactured in the United Kingdom from a four-way stretch material that is unique to the water sports safety world, manufactured for use in the incredibly tough world of full-contact field sports.

The most important element of the inflation system is again manufactured in the United Kingdom by our specialist manufacturing partner SeaSafe which has over half a century of experience in the design and production of life vests and other safety at-sea products.

The inflatable lung that gives the Blue Soup UP Vest its buoyancy has been specially designed to give the maximum amount of lift (for those technically minded over 150 Newtons worth) and to keep the wearer afloat in a head-back position. The lung design has been thoroughly tested and can withstand pressures over and above the industry standard (20-22 psi), in fact, we have tested the production lung to destruction where it finally failed at 28 psi!

The inflation system is controlled by pulling the two control tabs situated high on either side of the chest; this activates the 33gm Co2 cylinders and thus inflates the lung. There is an oral inflation tube located high on the chest on the right-hand side that can be accessed by the wearer and buoyancy can be added without activating the Co2 supply. There is a dump valve tab located on the left-hand side above the hip that can be used to regulate the vests buoyancy and the dump valve also acts as an overfill pressure release should both cylinders be accidentally activated simultaneously.

The 4 Pull UP Vest from the Blue Soup

Is the latest offering from the Blue Soup Equipment Company and brings you an advanced and highly effective safety product for a wide variety of water sports. The UP Vest is designed and produced in the United Kingdom using the guidance of international water sports athletes and utilizing British manufacturing experience. Blue Soup has broken down the barriers between elite athletes and recreational leisure users by delivering a product that is available for all those who participate in all types of water sports regardless of at what level.

The Blue Soup UP Vest is an inflatable safety product that is worn inside a lightweight outer garment that provides approximately 100Newtons of buoyancy. The outer material is manufactured from a 4-way stretch material that is usually used in the manufacture of full-contact sports uniforms. It is highly flexible, rugged yet comfortable and will not compromise the wearer’s range of movement and yet continues to provide user protection through the following features:

The outer vest is replaceable and Blue Soup will be producing a range of designs for each season and these are available as a separate product line (details available on request). The standard UP Vest is available in two designs (as shown opposite) black and cyan blue. The outer vest material can be produced in any color or design and based on minimum order quantities co-branding opportunities are available. Blue Soup also offers a white-label service with full United Kingdom manufacturing quality remaining at our core. Each UP Vest is supported by a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase.

The Blue soup Equipment Company is a UK-based company that in conjunction with international water sports athletes specializes in developing innovative and exciting safety equipment that is manufactured solely in the UK.

Blue Soup’s lead product set is the Up Vest a water sports safety device that we feel will revolutionize safety on the water for any level of the participant, be it an international surfer to a fitness enthusiast on his Stand Up Paddleboard.

The Up Vest, unlike its competitors, is manufactured from a material that is extremely light, extremely flexible, and extremely tough, originally developed for use in full-contact sports such as professional and international rugby and American football.

The material has a 4-way stretch capability and is light enough to be worn on its own and flexible enough to be worn over a  wetsuit or impact vest as you can see we can produce the outer vest in a number of designs and Blue Soup will produce a number of themed versions as well as new designs for each new season on the water.

At Blue Soup your safety is the most important thing on our minds and in conjunction with our manufacturing partner SeaSafe Systems who have been designing and manufacturing life vests in the United Kingdom for over 50 years, we feel that we have developed the most effective inflation system available today. Over a period of 3 years, we have experimented with the design and have now produced a product that will lift you to the surface in a head back and above the water position.

The Black UP Vest is the original design with a few additions, the cyan blue Collar and sleeve detail lift out the simple and effective black design. Less is more…

Unlike our first design, the Cyan Version is quite literally completely the opposite, it most definitely isn’t understated and will get you noticed whether it’s because that’s the kind of person you are or if in your sport of choice and for safety reasons this makes sense. Blue Soup currently supplies this version to the guys riding jet skis and providing safety cover to big-wave surfers.     

SIZING GUIDE

Blue Soup understands that fit is a personal preference and as the UP Vest can be worn on its own or over a wetsuit or impact vest we recommend that you refer to the sizing chart and take the following guidelines into account. If you intend to wear the UP Vest over a wetsuit or impact vest you may want to go up a size, but depending on the environment and the size and power of the surf you may wish the UP Vest to be super tight, again this is a personal preference and if on receiving your UP Vest it really doesn’t fit we can exchange the outer vest only if you send it back to us. (Please Note –  we will supply the exchange vest for free but you will be responsible for paying any charge for postage and packing from your destination back to us).

Please allow 8-12 weeks for production and delivery.  We will be working on reducing this wait as we develop our reseller network in your region.

REFUND POLICY

If you have bought your UP Vest from Blue Soup directly (via this website) and you have changed your mind and wish to return your UP Vest you can return it within 14 days after the original invoice date.

Blue Soup will refund the selling price of the item on condition that the item is returned to us as originally packed, unused and undamaged in accordance with our return of goods conditions in the paragraphs below.

The customer will bear the courier costs of the return of articles.

Any Items that you feel have been sent by us in error must be notified to us in writing within 14 days of receipt, these must be returned to us within 14 days after the original invoice date and we will refund the selling price of the item on condition that the item is returned to us as originally packed

It is your responsibility to ensure that all returns reach us securely and undamaged in accordance with our return of goods policy.

Goods must be returned within 14 days of receipt.

Returned goods must be unused, in a sale-able condition, and in their original packaging with all labels still attached.

Goods must not be fitted, used, or soiled in any way.

If YOUR UP VEST SHOWS POSSIBLE DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND OR PRODUCTION PROCESS:

Should the item show possible defects in materials or production processes, we ask you to notify us about this via email immediately, whereas probable transport damages should be notified immediately to the driver.

Please return these faulty goods back to us including a brief note describing the problem us. Please email [email protected] before returning bulky articles in order to find the most favorable way of sending them back. The customer will bear the freight costs of the return of articles. Please understand we will not accept receipt of goods that are not prepaid carriage.

WARRANTY

Your Blue Soup Up Vest is supported with a warranty on both manufacture and materials for one year from the date of purchase.

Blue Soup will choose to replace or repair any defects that occur within normal wear and tear circumstances. This covers the failure of any elements of the inflation system and the outer vest seams or fabrics.

Blue Soup retains the right to define normal wear and tear circumstances, but as a guideline, this requires the customer to follow the UP Vest care instructions which can be found in your instruction manual, and that you take all reasonable precautions to maintain the garment.

Exposure to elements such as extreme heat and direct sunshine, prolonged bacteria and chlorine, and other harsh or abrasive substances can accelerate product degradation and void warranty.

Materials such as fingernails and other sharp objects may tear and rip the outer UP Vest material will not repair or replace items that have clear physical stress such as rips and split seams, or where there is clear evidence of inadequate care or treatment.

The product that is covered by repair or warranty may be exchanged in either the retail place of purchase or through courier or post to a distributor office nearest you. (see contact details for physical address and PO Box). Blue Soup will return warranty repair or replacement by the same speed of delivery – couriered

WHAT IS MY UP VEST MADE FROM?

The UP Vest apart from the industry standard components is completely manufactured in the United Kingdom from the highest quality materials. The inflation device is produced by our manufacturing partner Sea Safe Systems who have been designing and manufacturing life jackets for over 50 years, the outer material is made from a specialized 4-way stretch material that is usually used to manufacture team uniforms for contact sports such as rugby and American football.

DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS?

Yes, all if you contact us at the Blue Soup office ([email protected]) with your problem we will be really happy to help, our warranty and returns policy is listed on our purchasing page.     

WHERE DO I GET REPLACEMENT CYLINDERS FROM?

In the near future, you can buy replacement cylinders from any UP Vest reseller and these outlets will be listed on our reseller’s page or online from the Blue Soup website.

CAN I USE THE UP VEST IN ALL WATER SPORTS?

The UP Vest is designed to be easy and comfortable to wear and is suited to most water sports, ranging from surfing, SUP, paddle surfing, windsurfing, and kayaking its flexible nature means it will allow you a full range of movement and not interfere or inhibit you in any way.

WHAT IF MY UP VEST DOESN’T FIT?

NO!

Will my UP Vest work with different sizes of CO2?

Yes but Blue Soup cannot be responsible for any issues caused by using different-sized CO2 cylinders such as inflation rates or overpressure damage caused by using CO2 cylinders over 33gm

Do I have to pay import tax if I am buying my UP Vest outside of Europe?

This will depend on which country you are in, more detail is available in our purchasing section

Blue Soup is delighted to add to our range the UN VEST, the newest Water Safety Inflation Vest in our range, designed to be worn under your wetsuit. (and over your impact vest, if you wear one of these)

The UN Vest has the same industry standard components as our UP Vest and of course, the same level of manufacturing expertise and experience gained over 50 years by our manufacturing partner SeaSafe Systems. The only difference between this and our original UP Vest is the UN Vest is worn under not over your wetsuit.

The 4 Pull UN Vest is available in Black (with Cyan detail), Navy (with pink detail) or Grey (with orange detail).

Our Original UP Vest has been used by professional water sports athletes globally since its launch in 2018, and it’s provided both them and the recreational water sportsman using them unparalleled levels of safety.

The UN Vest is available with either a 2-pull or 4-pull inflation option and the Co2 heads like the UP Vest are available with either 1/2” or 3/8” threads. The Co2 charges are operated in the same manner as the UP Vest by the wearer pulling on the activation cords using the blue anodized toggles, and just like the UP Vest, there is a built-in oral inflation tube to allow the wearer to add buoyancy if they wish without using a Co2 charge. The control lines are designed to be threaded through pre-made cuts in the wetsuit, there is also as is standard a dump/overpressure valve that is also activated by a control line using a red anodized toggle to operate.

Sizing – As the UN Vest is designed to be worn under the wetsuit you should pick a size closer to your actual body measurements as it will not need to stretch over any other waterwear. However, if you also plan to wear it with an impact vest as well you need to measure yourself for sizing with the impact vest on as you may need a bigger size. (if wearing an impact vest the un-vest goes on top of this and under your wetsuit)

(NOTE) Each vest requires 2-4 / 25-48grm CO2’s with your choice of threading, 1/2″ or 3/8″, and are not included with purchase. If you are not able to source 33grm cylinders, you can use the 38grm version. Once pulled, any excess air in the bladder will be automatically released thru the dump valve ensuring a full bladder. I recommend the brand called LELAND and I currently purchase my CO2’s from a company called Amron International. They offer great customer support and are quick to reply to emails and phone calls.
