"Everyone brings special thoughts and ideas to this class. Eric although a new comer, has taken the lead in creating a communication venue for the sport and in organizing the Association of Professional Towsurfers. As the sport grows his role will no doubt also continue to grow. Eric has experienced Archies "hell week" so he knows the physical and mental expectations. He has traveled and met many of the experienced towsurfers that have shared their knowledge and experiences with him. I also have the sense that he knows and understands the spiritual part as well. Some respected philosophers call this "finding the ume" It's a Japanese phrase that tells us each to look for that something special that gives our lives meaning and worth. Those of us doing this class, course, whatever, are committed to helping others by sharing our experiences. It’s all about passing on the knowledge and growing at the same time." Says-Jim Howe/Class Instructor and Operations Chief of the City and County of Honolulu's Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division.
