March 30, 2023 Part 1 Good day, Insta family. Yes March 30, 2023 Part 1 Good day, Insta family. Yesterday Bathsheba who is homeless and lives on this corner in this chair, gave me her wish list. Today I dropped off groceries, warm clothes, hygiene essentials, a big warm hug and tons of love. I will be posting a series of short clips sharing her story and kindness with you all. My goal and hopes are to somehow give you a chance to get to know Bathsheba while humanizing her. I would like for you to get to know her as I am. My goal and hopes are to get her off the streets and into a permanent living situation through the power of sharing our love via social media. So please share if you feel touched to do so. I am not sure how this is going to happen or what the end result will be, but I can tell you all that I am being led by a higher power to help as much as possible. Homelessness, in every sense of the word, is turning out to be the defining problem of the 21st century. Current estimates put the number of homeless people in the world at 100 million. I just want to help Bathsheba and start a dominoes effect with empathy, love, and kindness. Anything is possible and it only takes one person to take the time and make it happen with a loving and caring heart. This women and my new friend is named Bathsheba. T This women and my new friend is named Bathsheba. This is where she has posted up for the past 4 months. Believe it or not but this is where she also sleeps every night. No matter if it’s raining, snowing and or freezing weather. I have recently been helping her with food and basic essentials while getting to know her story. The hard thing for me is that I see her everyday on my way to work and on my way home and let me tell you, this is a realty check and so tearfully gut wrenching. She is a beautiful soul, with a kind heart and very grateful for for the love and support she receives. When I asked her what the ideal situation would be for her she replied the obvious, “To not be homeless any longer”. 🙏😢 I wish and pray that the universe would provide the means to help Bathsheba get off the streets and into a warm and safe environment. Remember, the next time you feel like your life is the shits, go spend 30 min with a homeless soul and get a good dose of reality! @hawaiiecodivers, and @pnw_ocean_safety_summit hav @hawaiiecodivers, and @pnw_ocean_safety_summit have partnered up to bring you Breathing & Apnea Surf Survival 2-day Course. Thank you for your interest in the Apnea & Surf Survival course in Newport, Oregon on June 10th and 11th. We ate sure you will benefit tremendously from this course. It will change the way you breathe and surf. You will feel a lot more comfortable in the ocean guaranteed! The course will be held at the Newport Recreation Center located at 225 SE Avery St. Newport, OR. 97365. There will be lectures, breathing exercises and water training from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days. The price is $395.00 for the two days of training. Link in bio for registration; This course is designed with only one goal in mind; to increase your breath hold ability in tense situations underwater, while remaining calm and in total control of your mind. In this apnea training for surfers, you will learn different techniques of apnea and breathing exercises to fully oxygenate the body, and strengthen and increase the capacity of the lungs. The class is designed to help you spend more time underwater through lectures, intense breath holds training and multiple breathing and swimming exercises. Its purpose is to aid surfers in dealing with extreme situations where mind control and calmness are the main factors for your survival. In addition to apnea theory and breathing techniques to maximize oxygenation and breath hold, we will be emphasizing High Surf Risk Management in order to recognize, minimize or avoid unnecessary risks found in the surf zone. We will also present and work on many “Surf Rescue" scenarios encountered in the sport of surfing and other water activities. We will cover the importance of providing CPR and Rescue Breath skills to unconscious victims. These are the main aspects of the training: • Physiology of breathing & apnea; • Risks and dangers of training apnea; • Proper breathing exercises to improve ventilation and strengthening of the lungs; • Water safety; • Static apnea, dynamic apnea and stressed apnea exercises • Surf survival drills • Risk management and emergency action plan; • Surfing rescue skills; • CPR
